Dawn is an award-winning journalist who joined ABC27 in June 2015. She covers Dauphin and Cumberland Counties.
She spent almost five years at WHAG NBC25 as the weekend evening anchor and multi-media reporter covering the Maryland General Assembly and issues important to the community in Frederick County. Dawn covered major political stories from Annapolis each week, including the passage of bills such as same-sex marriage and medical marijuana.
Dawn also worked a split shift covering local roads as a traffic reporter for WGAL. Her career began in 2007 as an assignment editor for WPMT FOX43 in York.
She is a loyal Terp and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and summa cum laude from Carroll Community College in Maryland.
Dawn received a 2016 Emmy nomination for her reporting on homeless students at ABC27. While at WHAG, Dawn won a 2012 Edward R. Murrow award for her story on a blind high school swimmer. She has also won five Society of Professional Journalists awards for feature reporting, breaking news reporting, radio reporting, and news photography. She is a proud member of the Native American Journalists Association.
You may catch Dawn out and about walking her two shelter rescue dogs, Charlie and Rocky, or traveling the East Coast for her son’s swim meets. She loves fitness, including weightlifting, swimming, and running. Dawn is a classically-trained pianist and figure skater.
