Winter storm to bring snow, sleet, freezing rain

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Officials at Philadelphia International Airport say they are taking steps to deal with a winter storm expected overnight, but most airlines expect normal operations into Monday morning.

Airport spokeswoman Diane Gerace says crews have been pre-treating runways and taxiways with chemicals and are salting roadways and ramps.

Forecasters say the storm will bring snow, sleet and freezing rain to much of the commonwealth.

Some areas in the northern part of the state are expected to get 6 to 10 inches, with 3 to 8 inches in the Lehigh Valley, but Philadelphia is expecting less than an inch of snow and sleet with a little bit of ice.
