HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Children dealing with illnesses go through a lot. Capital City Bass Masters want to bring smiles to their faces.
The group hosted a day of fun for the children at Lakeside Marina’s stocked pond in Dauphin County.
The fishing derby also featured a free lunch, tackle box, and a fishing rod for the children helped by the Four Diamonds Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“The kids are having a great time. It gives them a special morning to get away and forget their ills for the day. That’s why we’re here. We’re teaching them the skills to do fishing but, basically, just to enjoy themselves,” co-organizer Bob Herman said.
Bass Masters holds the Fishing Derby annually. Their mission is to bring awareness to fishing and conservation.
