DA: Man killed self as police served warrant

CONESTOGA, Pa. (WHTM) – A man sought for fleeing police took his own life as officers served an arrest warrant Friday morning at a Conestoga Township home.

The Lancaster County district attorney’s office said the 27-year-old man had agreed to go with the officers. He asked if he could get a pair of shoes from another room, and while he was in that room he shot himself in the head.

The officers did not fire their guns and no shots were fired at police. Also, there was no physical confrontation during the incident, which occurred around 7 a.m..

Authorities did not immediately release the man’s name.
