One person in custody after fatal shooting in Chambersburg

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – One person is in police custody after a fatal shooting in Franklin County.

The shooting took place Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of Garber Street in Chambersburg.

Police Chief Ron Camacho said four to six men were arguing and fighting before shots were fired around 2:15 p.m.

A short time later, 18-year-old Sean Anthony Atkins was identified as a person of interest. He was later taken into custody.

According to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, the victim is 19-year-old Tyson A. Hettenschuller, of Chambersburg.

Police did not immediately release additional details about the shooting, including a motive.
