Cooking with Daybreak: Valerie Pritchett shares holiday recipe

Members of the abc27 news team are sharing their favorite holiday recipes on Daybreak.

On Friday, Valerie Pritchett was in the kitchen making Oyster Stuffing.



Oysters (2 pints)
2/3 cup oyster reserve liquor
Stuffing min (2 -12 oz) Unsalted butter (1stick)
Heavy cream 1/2 -3/4 cup
Fresh ground salt and pepper
Cayenne Pepper
2 Asian Pears
Fresh Parsley
Onions (4 oz)
Celery (4oz)
Preheat oven to 350.


Sauté butter, chopped parsley, onions, celery.
Add Cayenne pepper and nutmeg to taste.
Once cooked down add cream and oyster liquor cook for another minute.
Chop Asian pears into small pieces.

Coat baking dish with nonstick spray, add layer off seasoned and unseasoned stuffing. Add pan mix liquid and a layer of Asian Pear. Then layer of oysters. Repeat and cover.

Bake for about an hour or until oysters are done.
Take lid off for a few minutes during the last stages of baking
