American Cancer Society gets donation

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Breast Cancer Awareness Month is over, but donations for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk keep flowing.

Bath Fitter presented a check for $44,693; the result of a campaign held in October by Bath Fitter and its sister companies. One percent of all sales were targeted to the donation.

The American Cancer Society and Bath Fitter have partnered with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk for 10 years. The Harrisburg walk held on City Island is one of the largest in the nation.

“It means a lot to our employees that our company can support such an important movement.” marketing director Abby Davis said. “Breast cancer has touched many of our lives and our customers’ lives so intensely. We want to be there to support them and show that it matters to us as a company what they have gone through or are going through.”

The American Cancer Society is grateful for the partnership.

“We look forward to working with Bath Fitter in the years to come in fulfilling the society’s mission to end cancer through research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs.” ACS senior marketing manager Jo Brindley said.
