CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Carlisle officials say the borough’s water treatment facility on Longs Gap Road is back online, but the plant is producing water on a very limited basis.
A mandatory water restriction remains in effect while work continues to replace and repair electrical and mechanical components at the plant.
The water plant went out of service Thursday morning. Borough Manager Matt Candland said it appears at least one check valve malfunctioned and caused a reservoir tank to flood the facility.
Candland said of the eight filters at the facility, two are back in service but require manual operation during certain treatment cycles. He said the borough hopes to have at least one additional filter online Wednesday and others back in service throughout the week.
At this time, there is no need to boil drinking water.
