Giant Center hockey game raises money for children of fallen officers

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM)- Local police officers took on officers from the Philadelphia and New Jersey area in a benefit hockey game at the Giant Center this afternoon.

Money raised benefited families of officers killed in the line of duty. The following are officers who were recognized: Scott Leslie Bashioum, Shawn D. Rager, David M. Weaver, and Kristopher D. Moules. Service dogs K9 Totti and K9 Aren were also acknowledged.

This was the 11th year for the event. In the past 10 years, they have raised nearly $150,000 for the children of fallen Pennsylvania police officers.

The Hershey Junior Bears Mite A travel team also hosted a Thanksgiving tournament and wore KOPS FOR KIDS jerseys to promote recognition and assistance for families of fallen officers.
