YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A toddler’s cause of death has been determined in York County.
According to Coroner Pamela Gay, a 3-year-old was at a relative’s home on Deininger Road in Springettsbury Township with her parents on Thanksgiving Day.
Avery Ogle went missing at one point during the gathering and was found unresponsive in the home’s indoor pool.
She was taken to the hospital shortly after 3 p.m. and was pronounced dead a short time later.
“Anytime you see a tragic incident involving a child, it’s hard. But throw in the fact that it was Thanksgiving makes it even worse,” Sgt. Brian Wilbur with the Springettsbury Township Police Department, said.
An autopsy Friday revealed Ogle died of drowning.
