(WHTM) – There is no simple solution to eliminating concussions but one Albuquerque company hopes to make a major breakthrough in the world of sports.

The “SmackCap” monitors each time an athlete is hit. The patent-pending technology was developed by the Pressure Analysis Company (PAC).

According to the PAC’s website, it’s as a skullcap made out of a breathable, flexible material. Inside the cap are built-in pressure sensors that wirelessly transmits data in real-time through a mobile app.

PAC says it’s still working on a release date and pricing for the SmackCap.

Parents or coaches can sign up on the company’s website to preorder a cap.
