Greencastle woman waives hearing in $636K embezzlement case

MERCERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Franklin County woman is headed to trial on charges she stole more than a half-million dollars from her employer.

Karen J. Geesaman, 67, of Greencastle, waived a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, according to the district attorney’s office.

State police say from July 2012 and January 2016, Geesaman took $636,786 from Snider’s Elevator Inc. in Lemasters. She is charged with 10 counts of theft, forgery, and records tampering.

By waiving the hearing, she did not admit guilt but conceded prosecutors have enough evidence for trial.
