After seeing just about all four seasons in one this past weekend, Central PA is certainly getting a taste of November weather as we kick off Thanksgiving week. It will stay windy today with partly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 40s. It will feel mighty chilly thanks to those strong winds which could gust over 45 mph at times today. It will still be windy tonight too with lows dropping in the upper 20s. The region went from summer early Saturday to what will feel like winter tonight with the cold air and gusty winds. Tomorrow will be mainly sunny and stay breezy. Winds will finally relax by tomorrow evening.
High temperatures will stay in the 40s for much of the week before warming up just a bit by Thanksgiving and Black Friday. There are a couple chances for showers both Thanksgiving morning and again Saturday, but it should be of the rain variety and not much precipitation is expected. For travelers, there could be a wintry mix developing late Wednesday into early Thanksgiving morning across northern PA. Details are sketchy at this time, but stay tuned for updated forecasts throughout the week. It doesn’t look major at this time, but even a little slick travel will be noticeable this time of year.
Tonight at 5pm, abc27 Meteorologist Ryan Coyle will have an exclusive travel forecast in order to keep you and your family updated on conditions later this week as many people will be hitting the roads and skies to get to grandma’s house in time for Thanksgiving. Don’t miss it!
