HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg police officer was attacked while responding to the scene of a stabbing, police said.
It happened around noon Friday in the 1600 block of Market Street.
Police say Officer Skotnicki arrived on scene and found Alan Ortez on top of Officer Kreiser. An unknown bystander was also there, attempting to pull Ortez off.
Ortez was eventually handcuffed and transported to Harrisburg Hospital after EMS discovered he had stab wounds to his upper left arm, lower left abdomen area, and back.
He was also determined to be under the influence of a narcotic or synthetic drug.
Officer Kreiser suffered a minor facial injury, abrasions to her left knee, scratches to the neck area, and a bite to the back of the right tricep, police said. She was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment.
Ortez is charged with one count of aggravated assault on police and terroristic threats.
