Police: Man assaulted woman in her home, stole her painkillers

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – State police are looking for a man they say assaulted a 68-year-old woman before he stole her painkiller medication.

It happened Wednesday evening at the woman’s home in the 500 block of Racetrack Road in Berwick Township.

Police said the woman was opening her door to the unknown man when he grabbed her by her throat and pushed her to the side. He then took her prescription for Oxycodone and OxyContin and fled on foot.

The man was described as 5’10” to 6’0″ with a medium build and wearing a gray hoodie and sweatpants at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Gettysburg at 717-334-8111. Adams County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information related to the case.
