Missing children may be headed to Adams County, police say

UPDATE: Police say the children have been found safe.

INDIANA, Pa. (WHTM) – Police investigating the disappearance of two Indiana County children are asking for the public’s help.

Police believe the siblings may be traveling to Abbottstown, Adams County or the Maryland area with an unidentified woman. They were staying with a foster family in the Indiana area that reported they were missing.

One of the two, 15-year-old Gianna Smith, is reportedly nonverbal and autistic. She is with her 12-year-old brother, Michael.

Police believe the pair may be in danger of harm.

It is unclear to police at this time if the children fled on foot or if they are in a vehicle.
