Funeral for woman slain amid Pennsylvania police shootings

CANONSBURG, Pa. (AP) – A funeral is set for a western Pennsylvania woman slain by a man who killed himself after shooting two police officers, one fatally.

Friday’s funeral for 28-year-old Dalia Sabae (sah-BY’) will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg.

Sabae, who was three months pregnant was fatally shot Nov. 10 by her mate, 47-year-old Michael Cwiklinski at a duplex they shared in Canonsburg.

Cwiklinski shot and killed Officer Scott Bashioum as he arrived to investigate a loud fight neighbors reported between Cwiklinski and Sabae and wounded Officer James Saieva Jr.

Sabae was from Egypt but working on her pharmacy degree in the United States.

She had been a dance instructor in Egypt, and involved in theater and athletics while in college in that country.
