Harrisburg police arrest suspect in September shooting

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Harrisburg police have arrested a suspect wanted for a September shooting.

Tristan Rodgers, who was wanted for attempted homicide, was taken into custody Friday evening.

Swatara Township police were pursuing a vehicle from the Harrisburg Mall around 7:30 p.m. The vehicle stopped in the 1900 block of Ethel Alley and the occupants, one of them being Rodgers, fled.

Rodgers then went into a building in the 1900 block of Market Street, police said.

Harrisburg police and Pennsylvania State Police surrounded the building.

Harrisburg Police Chief Thomas Carter spoke with Rodgers over the phone shortly before he surrendered.

Rodger faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other related counts in connection with the Sept. 21 shooting that left a person with an injured leg in the 1900 block of Mulberry Street.
