Susquehanna Township honors officers

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – It was crowded inside Susquehanna Township’s municipal building Wednesday evening during an awards ceremony to recognized retired officers and those deceased who honorably served the township’s residents for decades.

Awardees included Paul Kinsinger, Stan Moore, Mike Proper, Rich Pastucka, Brian Lengel, James Nelson, and Jim Heilig.

“It’s important because they gave so much and impacted the department,” public safety director Rob Martin said.

Also receiving an award was retired Lt. Robert “Bo” McCallister, who was shot by a suspect during a bank robbery in 1981.

“The real reward is to see guys I’ve worked with. It’s nice to be a part of something, and I feel like I’m a part of something. So, the honor is for everyone, so I accept it for all the people who worked beside me, under me, and around me; making me a better officer,” McCallister said.

Each of the awardees received plaques and duplicates will hang on the Wall Of Honor in the township municipal building.
