YORK, Pa. (AP) – A central Pennsylvania man already serving a decades-long sentence on a murder conviction now faces life in prison without possibility of parole following conviction in the slayings of two brothers.

Jurors in York County deliberated for about an hour and a half Wednesday before convicting Durell Cotton of first-degree murder in the June 2015 shooting deaths of 19-year-old Abdiel Vasquez-Soto and 21-year-old Angel Berrios.

Prosecutors cited DNA evidence and witness testimony. Cotton’s attorney attacked the credibility of prosecution witnesses.

Cotton, who turns 21 Thursday, was sentenced immediately to two consecutive life terms following his conviction.

He was already serving 59½ years to life in prison in what authorities called the gang-related October 2013 killing of 21-year-old Jordan Breeland.

Relatives of the victims wept and embraced after the verdict.
