Coroner IDs man crushed to death by truck

SPRING GROVE, Pa. (WHTM) – The name of a Spring Grove man who was crushed to death by his pickup truck Tuesday morning has been released.

According to the York County coroner’s office, 78-year-old Robert Belford, Sr. was working on the vehicle outside his Heidelberg Township home when it happened.

For unknown reasons, the truck began rolling down an incline. Belford attempted to stop it, but could not overcome the vehicle’s momentum.

He was pinned against a nearby pole and died at the scene.

Belford’s death has been ruled accidental. No autopsy will be conducted.
