Man says he was beaten, robbed in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A 53-year-old man told police he was robbed of $20 and attacked in the 1500 block of Walnut Street.

The man reported that he walked past a group of three to four males and turned around when one of them called out to him. He said at that point, he was struck in the face with a hard object and fell to the ground, and the group assaulted him and went through his pockets.

He did not see what his attackers were wearing or what direction they fled due to the suddenness of Saturday evening’s attack, police said.

He was treated at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Anyone with information is asked to call Harrisburg police at 717-255-3170 or 717-255-3156.

Dauphin County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
