Fort Indiantown Gap plans controlled burn today

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. (WHTM) – You may notice smoke coming from Fort Indiantown Gap today.

The military training facility says it will conduct a controlled burn of 340 acres.

The burns reduce the risk of wildfires.

Fort Indiantown Gap announced last month that it would conduct controlled burns on about 5,000 acres from Oct. 10 to Nov. 23.
