Police: Sneaker, cell phone link suspect to Manchester Township crime spree

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have a suspect in a rash of burglaries and thefts in Manchester Township after a sneaker and a cell phone were left at one of the crime scenes.

Northern York County Regional police said the items led them to a home in the 600 block of North George Street where they found a matching sneaker and items that had been stolen over the past several months.

Investigators have an arrest warrant charging 19-year-old Jahaire Wilson with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and criminal conspiracy. He has not been arrested.

Police said a resident of the 1200 block of Stonehenge Drive on Friday saw someone rummaging through her vehicle and heard strange noises coming from the first floor of her home. Responding officers chased two suspects but lost them in a wooded area behind the house.

They said the burglary appears to be related to vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles in the township between Nov. 8-11 as well as similar crimes in neighboring jurisdictions.

Anyone with information on the crimes or Wilson’s whereabouts is asked to call the police department at 717-292-3647.
