Woman, 61, lied about being robbed, police say

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) – A 61-year-old Lebanon woman is facing charges for allegedly fabricating a story about being violently robbed.

Lebanon police said they will file criminal charges against Linda Bunker for making a false report to law enforcement.

Wednesday, officers met with Bunker at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She claimed she was walking, with the assistance of her walker, when a male approached her and struck her leg with a souvenir baseball bat.

According to Bunker, the incident happened in the 200 block of S. 7th Street shortly after 11 a.m. She said a woman chased the suspect off and then took her to the hospital.

Police said the suspect was described as a teenager with a medium build.
