Wolf orders flags lowered for slain police officer

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered Pennsylvania flags on the Capitol Complex and at state facilities in Washington County to fly at half-staff to honor fallen Canonsburg police officer Scott Bashioum.

Bashioum was killed in the line-of-duty this morning. The Associated Press reports Bashioum and another officer were responding separately to an emergency call when they were “ambushed upon their arrival.” The 52-year-old father of four died less than an hour later at a hospital.

Wolf said flags shall remain lowered until sunset on Monday.
