York City Council President elected as state representative

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Elected to serve as state representative of Pennsylvania’s 95th district, Carol Hill-Evans has resigned from her position as York City Council President.

The Democrat will replace Rep. Kevin Schreiber who announced in August he would not seek re-election.

“I am proud of what we have accomplished together on behalf of the residents of the City of York and I have worked alongside of some excellent colleagues,” Hill-Evans said in a release. “With this opportunity I intend to continue to serve the City of York, as well as Spring Garden Township, West Manchester Township and West York Borough in this new role.”

Schreiber will become the new president and chief executive officer of the York County Economic Alliance in the beginning of December.
