Hit-and-run driver injured child in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – City police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who injured a child.

Dauphin County Crime Stoppers on Monday released a photograph of the car involved in the incident last week in the area of South 16th and Derry streets.

Witnesses told investigators that after the child was struck Thursday around 4:40 p.m., a man in the car got out and looked at the child. He then got back in the car and fled, police said.

The child was treated at a hospital for a fractured leg, a fractured elbow, and fractures to facial bones.

Investigators said the car appears to be a four-door sedan and may have a sunroof. The car has damage to the passenger side front fender and possibly the corner of the bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call Harrisburg police at 717-255-6531.
