HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A weekend shooting incident in the city has become a homicide investigation, according to sources.
ABC27 News has learned 24-year-old Robert Jones died during surgery early Sunday. He was transported to a hospital after the shooting Saturday night near Fourth and Woodbine streets.
Police said Jones was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car when he was shot several times. They said witnesses reported another car pulled up next to Jones and opened fire around 10:30 p.m.
Jones was expected to survive his injuries, but died during the surgery due to complications, police said.
No arrests or suspects have been announced.
Police said Jones is originally from Chicago and had been in Harrisburg for only a few weeks.
