Traffic stop turns drug arrest in Chambersburg

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Chambersburg police discovered a large amount of marijuana following a traffic stop over the weekend.

An officer with the Chambersburg Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Saturday for an equipment violation. There was evidence of drug use in the vehicle, according to police.

The vehicle was searched and officers found about 360 grams of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia inside a book bag.

Police identified Richard Santiago, a 20-year-old Chambersburg resident, as the owner of the book bag.

He was arrested and charged with delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
