CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A man was arrested over the weekend for disorderly conduct at Chambersburg Hospital, just days before an armed man was shot and killed by police on the campus.
Officers responded Sunday to the hospital for a report of a disorderly patient.
According to police, 41-year-old Christopher Scott Sutherland threatened hospital staff and refused to leave the premises after he was discharged.
Sutherland was aggressively resisting officers at the time of his arrest, police said.
He was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
The incident came just days before a patient armed with a knife was shot and killed by police Thursday morning after he threatened a hospital employee and officers.
That person’s name has not been released.
