HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Gov. Tom Wolf has signed legislation to make life easier on teachers who are in the military or married to a military member.

Act 143 of 2016 speeds up the process when teachers want to return to the classroom. It allows for an expedited review when the teacher is a member or veteran of the Armed Forces or the spouse of a military member or veteran.

Pennsylvania was one of only eight states that didn’t allow an expedited review.

The bill’s author, state Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) said her measure will also reduce fees associated with re-certification.
