Police: Man entered Hart Center, threatened employees with knife

NEW OXFORD, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in Adams County are looking for a man they say threatened employees of a training and rehabilitation facility.

James Long entered the Hart Center in New Oxford Wednesday morning and threatened employees with a knife, according to Chief Francis Staab of the Eastern Adams Regional Police Department.

Long, a Hanover resident, is a former employee and patient who was treated at the center for mental illness and bipolar disorder.

He left the scene in his car.

Police have issued a warrant for simple assault and aggravated assault.

Anyone with information on Long’s whereabouts or the incident is asked to call the Eastern Adams Regional Police Department at 717-624-1614 and leave a message with Officer Kitzmiller.
