Motorcyclist, 61, killed in Rt. 283 crash

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – State police are investigating a fatal crash on Route 283 in Lower Swatara Township.

Crews were called just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to the eastbound lanes of Rt. 283 near the airport connector. . That’s where police said a motorcyclist attempted to merge onto Rt. 283 but lost control.

Police said the 61-year-old Lancaster  man fell off the motorcycle and slid into the eastbound lanes of 283 where he was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Harrisburg at 717-671-7500.
