Local park gets new roller coaster for 2017

LANCASTER, Pa – (WHTM) – Lancaster’s Dutch Wonderland will roll into 2017 with a new roller coaster.

The local amusement park will unveil Merlin’s Mayhem next summer. The ride is known as a suspended family roller coaster that will thread its way through the park landscape. Merlin’s Mayhem will be Dutch Wonderland’s tallest park ride, rising to a peak of 60 feet above ground level.

The coaster features a special mythical theme: riders will join Merlin the Magician as he searches the park for his missing dragon named Mayhem. On-board audio gives riders a hand in helping Merlin find his dragon friend.

Park officials say the ride will be family friendly.  With a minimum height requirement of 39 inches, the ride can be enjoyed by both young and old.
