HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Following an audit of the state Department of Health’s oversight of nursing homes, Auditor General Eugene DePasquale has released a guide to help people make informed decisions about choosing care for their loved ones.
The audit was released in July and identified issues with staffing levels, complaint handling and sanctions against facilities that performed poorly.
“This guide should help people understand what information is available to them when they are searching for nursing home care for loved ones,” DePasquale said in a release. “A wealth of information is available, especially online, but people must learn where to find it and what to look for.”
The five-page guide is available at PaAuditor.gov.
