HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) – A surprise for Steve Mancuso. A party to honor the man who raised nearly $11,000.00 for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign.
He wore a pink jacket all through September and October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where he works at Penn State Hershey Cancer Insitute.
His co-workers gathered in a conference room today with cupcakes and cheers.
Mancuso’s fundraising effort had a special meaning.
“Recently my friend passed away from breast cancer. Given my position in the Cancer Institute as the administrator, I had a unique opportunity to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer in Linda’s honor. I’m thrilled to be able to do this and have so many generous co-workers at Penn State Hershey,” Mancuso said.
Mancuso says he’s saving the pink jacket and hopes to hand it off to another co-worker next year and serve as his fundraising campaign manager.
