Police: Man tried to enter Franklin County home while intoxicated

WAYNESBORO, Pa. (WHTM) – A man is in Franklin County Jail and charged with public drunkenness after an early morning incident over the weekend.

Washington Township police were send to a reported burglary at a home in the 11500 block of Airport Road around 5 a.m.

The homeowner reported someone was trying to enter the home through a rear door.

Officers confronted a man trying to force the door open and gave commands for him to put his hands up and get on the ground.

Police said the suspect, identified as Benjamin Tyler Boswell, was intoxicated and delayed in responding.

The 31-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
