HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania’s governor makes more than twice as much money in a year as the governors of three other states, according to a new study.
The study, published by Zippia, says governing the Keystone State means raking in $187,818 a year. That’s the highest salary for any governor in the United States of America.
In fact, Pennsylvania is one of just two states where the governor makes over $180,000.
Those figures are a far cry from Maine, which is last in the country in governor salary at $70,000.
Pennsylvania’s state representatives are also well paid with an annual salary of $85,338.65, the second highest amount out of all 50 states. Only California’s reps make more.
Also in the top five among states with the highest politician salaries were Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan and West Virginia.
