CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) – The West Shore School District posted on its website that it has decided to take additional security measures at West Shore Stadium.
Fans are subject to visual inspections and bag checks before entering the stadium.
The district is restricting the size and type of bags allowed inside.
Darrell Jordan supports the move, but he questions the timing.
“They should have done it at the beginning of the season,” Jordan said. “You just can’t trust anyone these days.”
Fans are allowed to bring in one clear bag per person, no larger than 12 x 6 x 12, or a one gallon freezer bag is also acceptable.
Laura Musselman is a Cedar Cliff graduate. She says things have changed since she was a student.
“There have been incidents following football games lately.” Musselman said. “It makes sense to take more precautions.”
Visitors are allowed to bring a clutch bag or purse, with or without a strap, be they meet size restrictions.
Diaper bags, strollers walkers and other medically necessary items will be permitted following a detailed search.
The district recommends that, if possible, people leave their bags in their vehicles.
