Lancaster city man dies after being shot in the head

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM)- According to Lancaster City Police, officers received a call for a person down due to an unknown medical emergency on the 100 block of E. Clay St on Friday around 8 p.m.

First responders found a male city resident suffering from a head injury as a result of a gunshot. The victim was transported by medics to a local hospital for treatment. The male was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival at the hospital. Investigators spent the night conducting witness interviews, canvassing the neighborhood and processing the crime scene for evidence.

The family members of the victim are being notified and this investigation is ongoing by the Lancaster City Bureau of Police and the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office.​
