MILLERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Dauphin County woman is charged with the theft of $30,774 from the Salem Lutheran Church in Upper Paxton Township.

State police say the treasurer for the church, Deborah Meck of Millersburg, failed to deposit the church funds into the treasury account between January of 2015 and October of this year.

The missing money was discovered through an audit.

Meck is charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received.

She was released after an arraignment this week.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30.
