No, Harrisburg has not postponed trick-or-treat!

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Trick-or-treat night is still a go in the city and its surrounding communities, despite what you may have read on social media.

We’ve learned that one of our news articles from 2011 – when trick-or-treat was posted because of rain – has come back to life like a zombie from the grave and is making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter.

While the weather rained out the fun five years ago, trick-or-treat in the city is still on for tonight from 6-8 p.m.

To prevent any more confusion from that five-year-old article, we’ve deleted it from our website.

Lower Paxton Township police said they schedule additional patrols for trick-or-treat night in advance, so tonight’s trick-or-treat is rain or shine.

If anyone is looking for an alternative due to the weather, the Harrisburg Mall is hosting a free trick-or-treat event inside the mall from 6-8 p.m.
