LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The East Lampeter Township Police Department is raising funds to help a family cover their child’s medical costs.
Maciah Moore is the daughter of the department’s former custodian. The 4-year-old suffers from congenital scoliosis.
In 2013, Maciah was introduced to a Vertical Expandable Prosthetic Titanium Rib at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The VEPTR is an expandable rod that straightens her spine and helps her breathe.
She must undergo surgery every four to six months to have the rod expanded. This December, she’ll head to CHOP for her tenth of 50 surgeries.
To help Maciah’s family cover the costs of her medical care, the department is accepting donations.
Anyone interesting in donating can do so at youcaring.com.
