Police search for answers in 1972 Franklin County cold case

WILLOW HILL, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania State Police are still searching for answers in a 1972 murder in Franklin County.

Police found the body of Morgan Peters Jr. face down in a small gully about 55 feet north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike near milepost 189 on Sept. 18, 1972.

Peters died of a gunshot wound. He was last seen driving through a toll booth.

His truck was found on the turnpike near milepost 171. The truck windows were smashed and police found bullet casings nearby.
