Delta Passengers Can Track Checked Bags with App

Are you worried about your checked bags while flying?  Delta is trying to ease your anxiety with a new app.  The “Fly Delta” app allows passengers to keep tabs on checked bags.

Here’s how it works: Checked bags get a radio frequency identification tag, allowing tracking in real-time.  Scanners along the way track a bag’s movement and send the location information to the passenger’s app.  Pins on a map indicate various stops, such as when it’s on the way to the plane, transfers, and when it’s at the terminal for pickup.

Delta says it’s the first carrier to offer a luggage tracking tool with a map view.  The tracking technology is currently being used at 84 U.S. airports.  The full list can be found here.
