DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — The Park Avenue Bridge over Spring Creek in Derry Township is closing for a month ahead of a larger construction project.

The bridge, which carries more than 11,500 vehicles daily, is between ZooAmerica and Trinidad Avenue.

It will be closed for a month starting Monday, October 24.

During the closure, a signed detour will direct motorists onto Route 743, Route 422 and Hersheypark Drive (Route 39 and State Route 2016).

The one month closure will allow workers to relocate Verizon and the Pennsylvania American Water in advance of a construction project in January that will replace the superstructure of the bridge.
