East Hanover teen charged for racially motivated attack

GRANTVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) – State police say an East Hanover Township teenager is facing an ethnic intimidation charge related to an attack involving a bat.

According to police, the 17-year-old showed up Monday to a home on Houston Drive with an aluminum bat, saying he was going to, “f*** up some Mexicans.”

Police said one of two teens present, who was Hispanic, told the accused juvenile that he was wrong and asked him to give him the bat. Police said the accused juvenile then swung at the teen’s face.

Troopers responded to scene and found the accused teen with baseball in hand, pacing back and forth.

The teen, who has not been identified, was taken into custody by Dauphin County Juvenile Probation. He is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, disorderly conduct, ethnic intimidation, and harassment.
