CHAMBERSBURG, Pa – (WHTM) – Breast cancer awareness is becoming a fairy tale this week in Chambersburg.
Summit Health’s breast fairy met the lunch crowd at the Panera Bread restaurant in Chambersburg to promote early detection of breast cancer and the importance of annual mammograms.
The fairy promotion helps to break down barriers that make conversation and questions about the deadly disease difficult.
“The goal is that early detection of breast cancer saves lives, and this is just one piece of a larger awareness campaign throughout the year,” said Summit Health spokesperson Jeannie Constable.
The breast fairy handed out free cookies to patrons as part of the Summit Health/Panera Bread promotion.
