Cellphone sale turns into robbery in Cumberland County

CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) – Police on the West Shore are investigating a sale turned robbery.

Police say two people met up Wednesday around 11:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Hummel Avenue in Camp Hill after agreeing to a sale through a popular selling app.

The seller intended to sell a cellphone but was robbed by the suspect. The suspect shoved the seller and fled without paying for the device, according to police.

Police say the suspect drove off in a black Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows. He was last seen fleeing north over the 17th Street Bridge toward State Street.

The victim was not injured.
